Find out how your purchase from Chapters can support this website!

Knowledge is power!  But what do you do when our world is overflowing with books and resources and you cannot pin-point the one book with the information you need?  It can be a challenge to know which book is the one to answer your questions or support the perspective of your organization. We hope to help minimize your frustration and save you searching through countless resources by highlighting those we've discovered and feel comfortable recommending to you.

Our librarian and training sessions are highlighting resources that support your work. Lots of these resources can be retrieved in an electronic format, but the fact is - we still like to buy books. Each month, we'll share with you what we've been reading and if you choose to purchase a copy for yourself, we would love it if you click on our link to Chapters. The Foundation for Rural Living is part of the Affiliate Program with Chapters. By linking to Chapters products and services through our site, Chapters provides us the opportunity to earn up to 8.5% in referral fees for doing so.  By buying one of the books we recommend, you can help support this website.

Have you read a good book recently on fund development, nonprofit management or philanthropy?  We would love to hear about it.  We can only read so fast - so if you would like to write a book review for your peers, take a look at our writing guidelines and send it along to communications@ruralphilanthropy.ca

Fundraising For Non-Profit Groups

Book Review

While taking a fundraising course, this was the book I was required
to read. The language was simple and easy to understand.  There
are lots of examples, templates and a comprehensive appendix
chalked full of useful resources.  This book sits on my desk (not
tucked at the back of a bookshelf) and I refer to it on a regular basis
whether I am looking for information developing a fundraising strategy,
needing to know how effectively fundraise on the internet or requiring
general fundraising advice.

I would highly recommend this book, whether you are just beginning
a career in fund development or are a seasoned expert.
