Using the search page You can search for resources by:
- Title
- Subject
- Author
- ISBN or ISSN number
- Alphabetical listing of all resources in the library
You will find:
- Downloadable resources in an electronic format, often PDF
- The location of the resources and whether it is available from an external website or within the Library
- A web link to the resource
- A password protected resource that may have restrictions on its accessibility
Tips for searching
- You can search by exact title or by keywords
- The database is not case sensitive. You can use upper or lower case letters - the database will find 'word’, 'Word’ or 'WORD'.
- Only use leading articles ‘a’ and ‘the’ if you are searching by exact title
- You can search by different categories: books, e-books, periodicals; as well as you can retrieve all the resources in the library under the <All> drop-down menu.
- Links to nonprofit or voluntary sector organizations are available on the main library menu, under the "Links" category.
Password Protected Resources Our library provides access to electronic resources we have purchased, such as periodicals, e-books and web based databases that require the use of a password. The password is required because the licensing arrangement with the publisher has some restrictions for use. Our library will direct all users to the location of the resource on the web. Rural Development Officers with the Rural Philanthropy Resource Network will have a password to access these resources.
